Steve Boxall

I am a retired optometrist and self taught artist / illustrator based in Pickering, North Yorkshire. I generally work in watercolours or mixed media ( occasionally highly textured ). I am currently enjoying experimenting with acrylics and also ink with watercolour. Much of my artwork is inspired by the towns , villages and wildlife of the North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast.

I was born in Wakefield and spent more than 20 years in the South Lakes area. I am a member of Kendal Art Society, Whitby Art Society and Vale of Pickering Art Club and have exhibited locally and also in West Yorkshire. Recent commissions include illustrations for Anglo Saxon England in 100 Places – author David Edmondson, a number of South Yorkshire walkboards and various portraits including pets.
